<![CDATA[Poker Interview – Anthony Giangrasso ‘Panisson at the foot of Olympus]]> http://7.rankpage10.com/?p=843 2011-04-17T01:22:30Z 2011-04-17T01:22:30Z Marseille. Its port, its football club and … its poker players. Under the watchful eye of the Good Mother grows a new generation of online poker players, PokerNews has met with one of the most worthy representatives: Anthony Giangrasso alias ‘Panisson’.

It’s on the Big Blue Anthony grew up, discovered poker at a young age by watching his father while exchanging notes in francs at poker parties that closed would surely not deny Marcel Pagnol.
Panisson an early passion for poker

It is also not a coincidence that Anthony shares a kinship with the name of one of the unforgettable hero of the trilogy of Marseilles Provençal poet. “My father made ??’panisses’, a specialty of Marseilles. We started call him by that nickname and I became ‘Panisson’, the small Panisse … “he reveals.

“I supervised the parties, at the age of five, six years. I was very young, but that’s where I knew the game and I liked it,” remembers there. “I started playing small amounts to eleven, twelve, and I started to play games not very expensive.”
Grinder online, a permanent sprint

Times have changed and at age 27, now lives comfortably Panisson this passion became his profession. “It’s been five years since I saw online poker. The first two years too, because I do not thing materialize maximum “in stagnant for micro-limits.” I started with a bankroll, then I’d hardly call that not even a bankroll … We started with crumbs! ”

The crumbs that have attracted enough pigeons to enable it to settle at levels much higher altitude, “I had a very good first year and it has been five years since I saw online poker. The first two years too, because I do not materialize thing up. limiting myself to the microphones.
Now it’s been two years and it is not obvious, do not believe that things are very easy. “.

To live online poker, do not be idle indeed, the pace of life grindeurs may discourage less resilient in what looks more like a sprint than a long continuous peaceful march: “I play about sixty hours per week eight to ten hours a day with a rest day. ”

This results in hyperactivity virtual one of the largest volumes of play at the national level, with all the bonus points races and the accompanying “this represents between 50,000 and 60,000 hands in the months reasonable, more than 80,000 in the big month “. Part of the profits of satisfying its needs, the rest is put aside enough to keep a bankroll of € 100,000: “I care enough to play, 100k, my base rate is 3 € / 6 €, a little 5 € / 10 € and a bit of 2 € / 4 €.
A tracker in the brain

At these limits and with this volume, the enemies of poker players become more fierce, especially on the tables of Pot Limit Omaha, a format where we regularly face “of the variances of 5000 € per hour.” ‘J’ have already lost a month thirty wineries (30,000 €) which is for me a lot of money, but not much considering the number of hours of hands played, “for whom the tempers Panisson OLP is the future of poker: “I think the hold’em will be exceeded in some years by the Omaha.

But whether Hold’em or Omaha, Anthony is most effective when it has fewer opponents to master: “The more ‘short’, I’m more at ease. I started heads-up, but for my game tables of three or five players that’s fine, that’s what suits me best. ”

Raised on the banks of poker, Panisson is one of the few players to the limit where it operates not to use software for decision support in real time, the famous ‘trackers’. “It has been 5 years since I played without tracker “says he,” as of today I am one of the players making the most hours on the room. There are moments where I’m going to have disadvantages but most of the information I need, I have them in my own tracker in my brain! ”
“Play with evil and you will become ill”

Poker closed to the PLO through hold’em, his career in the old way “of a game changing technology inevitably recalls that of Antony Lellouche pro player with whom he shares more than the name.” In Omaha he is a player who makes big swings but has the bankroll accordingly. I most often seen in cellars extort leave. ”

When Panisson decides to face the ‘regs’ (regular players) French OLP, it is not to be noticed for a vanity or self-satisfied that he leaves to others. “Personally, I have no ego problems” Anthony admits, “I like playing ‘regs’, I say not every day, but from time to time to try to keep the level even of progress. I was always told ‘plays you become ill with bad plays with good and you will progress’. ”

On a limit to another, and Panisson navigates over the mood and shape of tables available and players present “in 5 / 10 we meet more professionals, regs, in 3 / 6 I can lose 5 or 6 wineries in a bad run, but I know that most people in front will not be around after losing two cellars, “and because” they will put everything on the table. ”
The secret of success without assaulting tilter

When asked Anthony if stoic boy is his secret to become a hungry shark on online poker tables, fuse reply: “be aggressive! Aggressive pay all the time in the long term” . Another essential quality in his opinion: namely “manage tilt. When it goes wrong, ie turn off the computer and take a break.” More generally, the image of bowling balls that collide on occasion with his friends: “we must take the right curve and try to follow it.”

Wise words from an experienced player whose only Achilles heel is probably the game environment, judging by the Spartan comfort in which it operates: “If I say I am pro, we laugh. I am sitting on my couch, legs crossed, a computer with the smaller screen, with over ten tables. ”

Yet, he readily admits the value of a play station at the height “is not very important to me but it’s still important to be comfortable, to have his ease, be quiet. All the people I work with internet both screens in a comfortable lounge. Me, I’m on a wooden chair, but that does not change too much of my process, “though he admits that for a ‘grindeur’,” the healthy lifestyle is very, very important. ”
Panisson continues his “merry way”, with or without sponsor

Anthony Giangrasso

Improve your playing convenience, here is a concrete and achievable goal for Panisson that does not set any other constraint, “playing a lot of money do part of my goals. When I started the year. Fr, I gave myself goals but I saw that it was not a good thing because it might upset me. Now I understand that I do gives me more goals I try to move up and manage up in the right direction. ”

While many young players who have not yet passed the test of time father and mother to sell a sponsor Panisson has no difficulty in resisting the siren call of the media circus: “I am a rather shy boy” confessed he, “We will not refuse a sponsor, but if the media does not do not worry, I continue my merry way.”

But there is another less obvious reason for which we have not seen the shark as Marseille in the major live poker tournaments: the fear of flying has reduced its activity to live “a few tournaments and private parties, as a distraction. I have taken the pressure off live for two years. ” This fear has faded recently, finally allowing him to plan trips further afield: “These days I had no apprehension, so this year I’ll go to Las Vegas instead for cash but will also quite a few tournaments. ”
Luck? “It makes me laugh”

This pragmatic attitude, we find it logically in the management of his private life: “I am someone who knows the value of money and the taste of life, good restaurants, relaxing with my wife or between friends “. And when poker goes wrong, he turns to his friend Robert Giordano Marseilles better known on the circuit under his nickname ‘Bestof’: “It’s my coach, in life there are always weak moment and I always brings the best thing. ”

Anthony Giangrasso before leaving, we asked him what a look he wears on his debut, its evolution and some critics of rewarding ‘good run’ perpetual.

“I could have done better in the early years,” he replied bluntly, “I started from nothing and made ??a magical year. I do not consider myself old but when I see that ‘youngsters’ d think ‘I was lucky, after five years it makes me laugh. Yes I know some players who have been lucky for a year, a year and a half, but after a bad passage of six months they were no longer “.

Having played so much in so little time has also driven a wedge between Anthony and the players he faced in his debut: “I have a friend who has fifteen years of playing poker, I played the equivalent in a year and a half “from which a wry but realistic about finding those who have not evolved as quickly:” Some players are real robots. Sometimes I see that the person has remained at the same point in past, his game has hardly budged. A little guy who was bluffing, three years later he still does not bluff … ”
One dream: “put simply”

A balanced life in the sun in his city at heart, an undeniable success in high stakes cash games, what could he fail in this authentic bushel except maybe to prove to a wider public?
“Nothing more, it remains as is. Next year, if it is there that’s good. By then we may have changed the vision of things.”

Where many live in the dream and the hope of glory often chimerical, Anthony Giangrasso already knows that his unusual background made him a French UFO poker online. Keeping feet on the ground and head cold, cold-blooded predator that has set a target that money is only a tool, “poker is my life but I would not play until fifty years. I hope I’ll play as a hobby or a passion, but I hope to have children, grow my family, have goals, make good investments. Proceed, simply “

<![CDATA[Full Tilt Poker: A mental coach for her ‘Poker Academy’]]> http://7.rankpage10.com/?p=839 2011-04-17T01:21:51Z 2011-04-17T01:21:51Z On February 10, 2011, Full Tilt has announced that it hired the ‘mental coach’ Sam Chauhan, a name that you may be unfamiliar but that many American pros know. Its website describes it as “a specialist neuro-linguistic programming, subliminal persuasive linguistics, suggestions unconscious Ericksonian models, readings, and physiological muscle of quantum mechanics and clinical hypnosis. He uses these skills to help people overcome their mental barriers and find the fire within. ”
Focus on Sam Chauhan

Chauhan methods have their detractors but his results speak for themselves. He has helped many professional players to make incredible comebacks. For example, he was behind Gavin Smith when he won his first bracelet at the World Series of Poker 2010, he worked with David Williams to win the World Poker Tour World Championship and even has distilled his advice to the “Poker Brat” himself himself, Phil Hellmuth.

And these are just some of the people with whom Chauhan has worked in the poker industry. Besides, he also advises CEOs, celebrities and professional athletes. We already talked about on ESPN Chauhan, in the Chicago Tribune and in TIME Magazine. So we recently met with the mental coach, so he talks about his contract with Full Tilt , its clients and its projects for 2011.
Mental coaching

- PokerNews: Congratulations on your deal with Full Tilt. Can you give us some details on what it means for you and for Full Tilt? In addition to coaching mind, you will there be a little more playing poker?

- Sam Chauhan: I’ll probably attend a few tournaments here from there but the main objective of this agreement is to create a program of mental training on the Full Tilt Academy. This is the main task entrusted to me. In addition to advising the pros and qualifiers.

- PN: What will this psychological training program that you design for the Academy Full Tilt?

- SC: All is not finalized yet but the mental training program will help poker players to gain confidence and better manage the tilt and the ‘downswing’. You know, when two opposing players of equal talent, the difference is often on the mind. And some of the technique that I developed can help make a difference.
Why Full Tilt?

- PN: It’s been a long time now that you are involved in the poker industry, what prompted you to sign an agreement with one of the biggest online poker sites?

- SC: I wanted to have a real influence on things, large-scale, to make my contribution to the building of a more palpable. It has been three years now that I work with players of poker and the results are by appointment. I think my mental coaching program really helps people to give the best of themselves. Of course, I do not pay more talented but I allow them to move at their best level, which gives them a better chance of victory

- PN: Apart from Gavin Smith, have you ever had the opportunity to work with players at Full Tilt?

- SC: Yes, [Mike] Matusow. I was still with him a few days ago, just before he left on a trip.

- PN: Do you deal with Full Tilt you from taking customers who would be involved with other online poker rooms?

- SC: No, not at all. Full Tilt has given me a platform that will enable me to broaden my audience but I will continue to take individual customer side. For example, I always work with David Williams, Chris Moneymaker and others who are not sponsored by Full Tilt.
Poker players and Sam Chauhan

- PN: I’ll give some pros with whom you have worked in the past. Tell me the first thing that comes to your head lice each. Antonio Esfandiari?

- SC: I owe him a lot because Antonio was my first client in the poker world. If I had not crossed the toilet by accident, I would never set foot in this new sector.

- PN: In the toilet?

- SC: It was a few years and it went in the bathroom of Rio. He said “Hey, what do you do in life?” I replied that I was mental coach. He told me he would have the utility of someone like me because he had everything money, girls, and felt less driven to give his best. That’s how I started working with him. That year, he finished 24th in the Main Event and its performance has been my calling card.

- PN: Gavin Smith?

- SC: That officer Gavin, Brian Balsbaugh, who contacted me. He has a fabulous track record and is one of the nicest types I know. In addition, it has a very good mood, he always goes forward, no matter what.

- PN: Phil Hellmuth?

- SC: In 2010, I received a phone call from Hellmuth. In 2009, he had reached no final table and I was hired for six months. During this period, he reached two final tables in World Poker Tour.

- PN: Lars Bonding?

- SC: The Case of Lars is interesting because it is not he who contacted me but his wife. She was worried because he had not won anything for quite some time and it began to be stretched financially. She thought he had all the qualifications but perhaps lacking a touch of concentration and she thus hired. We had some dicsussions with Lars, I gave him advice, he changed one or two things and has twice won the Sunday Warm-up * in the space of three weeks. He was in tears.
The Full Tilt Poker Mindset Academy

- PN: Finally, a few words at Full Tilt players who will soon have the opportunity to play against you and take your advice?

- SC: My technique works, the results are there. It can help a player to increase his concentration, eliminate negative thoughts better manage tilt and offers greater chances of victory. Even though, in terms of mind, gain is only two percent, it can change dramatically throughout your rate for financial gain.

There are quite a few people around who can not afford a coach in mind when they really need. With the Full Tilt Poker Mindset Academy is me who will come to them and offer them a program endorsed by top players. It happens very soon and it will be only on Full Tilt Poker .

<![CDATA[Yuval, Yuvee04 ‘Bronshtein: “Israel, a former Texas”]]> http://7.rankpage10.com/?p=833 2011-04-17T01:20:44Z 2011-04-17T01:20:44Z David ‘The Maven’ Chicotsky found Yuval ‘Yuvee04′ Bronshtein to talk about his recent activities of poker, the gaming environment and the state of poker in Israel.

David Chicotsky: What looks like a typical week for you as an online player?

“It’s pretty weird, actually right now I’m really in a period where I played a lot live.
When I do not play live, I’m going on the internet to see what kind of cash games high-stakes are open and I try to sit there, or any tournament for big buy-in with prize pools worth a shot, I played about two per day. I really have no schedule, I wake up at any time and I open any game I want to play. ”

How many hours do you play on average per week?

“I would say that I play when I’m fit to play, probably six days a week for five to ten hours a day, or about 40 or 50 hours on average when I play a lot. I cross too many times or I just did not want to play and I do not want to exhaust myself, not playing poker for a month.
Usually it’s something I do once or twice a year. Last year is what I did after the World Series of Poker Europe, sometimes I feel it is necessary in order to not burn out playing nonstop. ”

What’s your setup like? What do you play?

“I just have a white MacBook standard, nothing special, it works well.”

How many tables do you play usually at the same time?

“I play a lot of multi-table tournaments” super turbo “(I can play 15 or 20 together) but when I play a normal part of high-stakes cash game or a few tournaments where I want to focus, I generally do will keep two to four tables open. ”

You spoke of travel, where have you traveled and what are your favorite places?

“I visited many places thanks to poker. I went to London, where I go every year for the WSOPE. I visited Amsterdam many times, which is one of my favorite cities. I went to play poker tournaments but also outside of poker, just for the holidays.
I often went to Israel, a country where I was born and I left when I was five, but I found more than five times since I left and I love visiting. Among other places, there is Budapest, the Bahamas, Mexico, several Caribbean islands and Canada including Toronto.

What looks like poker in Israel?

“We play poker but it is not very developed, it is a small hobby here is illegal and there are no casinos or anything like it, the parts being so private.”

Looks like Texas!

“Yes, the old Texas, where there are not many parts and I guess those are very expensive place but I do not know much more in fact.”

It’s interesting because there are many people of Jewish faith in poker, yet there is no poker in Israel.

“Yes it’s true, it would be really great to have there, and perhaps become a representative of the Israeli poker at some point in my career.”
